Jewelry artist Beth Novak “sketches in metal” to create works of enameled copper set in silver. Her one-of-a-kind pieces take shape as she uses a jeweler’s saw to add texture to copper she has pressed with her original dies. Color is added with layers of vitreous, lead-free enamel before the form is set in pressed silver using cold connections to preserve the enamel. Each work is brushed with patina and burnished to darken the finish and enhance coloration.
Beth holds a degree in studio art from the University of Wisconsin-Stout and currently resides in St. Louis Park, Minnesota, where she has focused on her signature enameled jewelry over the last 10 years.
