Curtis Hoard, a former professor in the University of Minnesota’s acclaimed ceramics program, is one of Minnesota’s premier clay artists. His work has been exhibited throughout the United States, Asia and Europe, and is included in many permanent collections, including those of the Minneapolis Institute of Art, the Weisman Art Museum, the University of Michigan, Anderson Consulting, US Bank, General Mills and Target Corporation. He has been featured in the magazines Ceramics Monthly, Clay Times, and Ceramics Art and Perception.

“The vessel has been a point of reference throughout my career,” states the artist, “but for
the past several years I have focused on creating pots that reside in the home. They are functional, straightforward pots that are nevertheless elegant and beautiful. I have created these pots to represent a sense of time and place.”
Curtis received his BS from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and his MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
