“Some may call it an obsession – the way we feel about clay,” say Swannanoa, NC artists Ed and Kate Coleman. “We love working with clay, hanging out with people who work in clay, buying clay objects from other artists, talking to people about clay … Our work continually grows and changes, but it always is about the clay. We hope that the excitement we feel when making a piece is evident and transferred to the owners of our clayworks.”

Ed and Kate started working with clay as teenagers taking class at the Indianapolis Art Center. The earned fine arts degrees at Ball State University before opening a studio in Florida in 2000. In 2006, they settled into a home and 200 square foot studio the mountains of North Carolina.
