“Making beautiful and functional art is in my blood,” says Emily Dyer, who grew up surrounded by colorful, patterned fabrics at her family’s South Minneapolis quilt store, an experience that inspires the motifs and palette of her ceramic work today.
Most of Emily’s pieces begin on the wheel, but she is also interested in creating slab built work and handmade tiles. Fresh floral and textile-inspired designs are pressed and painted with microwave, dishwasher and food safe glazes.
Emily holds a BA in studio art from Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN and is a former graphic designer. She maintains a studio in Minneapolis.
