Middlebury, VT potter Tom Homann creates beautifully constructed tableware that is characterized by earthy glazes and patterning applied by the artist. ‘Making pots that have utility creates a welcome challenge while striving toward an aesthetic goal,’ says Tom. “The greatest pitfall for anyone working within a creative field is stagnation. Nudging the work, even slightly from time to time, is part of what keeps the process alive and vibrant.”
Tom studied with potter Robert Richards in the 1970s and continued on with self-directed learning through the years. His work is featured at galleries nationwide and he is a regular participant in the National Teapot Show in Creedmoor, NC.
