Nolan Prohaska discovered glass through an introductory course at the University of Wisconsin in River Falls. Although he received his degree in horticulture, he has led the life of an artisan for the past decade, working with some of the most accomplished glass artists in the region, including Jim Engebretson, Dick Huss and Fred Kaemmer. His own Dance Wither Glassworks is located in New Richmond, WI.
Using both blown and solid working techniques, Nolan produces sculptures influenced by organic shapes and vessels inspired by landscapes and seascapes. “Each piece of glass becomes a reflection of my awe toward the natural world around us,” states the artist.
