Minneapolis artists and friends Sally Sexton and Rebecca Anderson share a common interest in the art and culture of the Sami people who are indigenous to the Lapland area near the Arctic Circle. Honoring the Sami tradition of pewter thread embroidery, Sally and Rebecca craft handsome bracelets with braided pewter and bark tanned reindeer hide, fastened with buttons made from naturally shed reindeer antler. Designed for daily wear, the bracelets will mellow as the metal flattens and the leather softens over time, creating a patina that echoes the centuries-old embroidery that inspired this contemporary work.

Sally and Rebecca chose the name Tradsaga, or “thread story,” for their collaboration, in recognition of their shared creative, work and parenting paths.
