Maurice Hamburger

Metal artist Maurice Hamburger spent 23 years in the computer industry before becoming a full-time blacksmith in 1992. His statement, “No more than what is essential, enough to make it elegant.” Maurice works in steel and often chooses screws, bolts, rivets and staples as joinery, favoring their design possibilities over welding. His pieces are finished with a water-based wax.

Maurice lives and works in Phoenix, AZ, where he has participated in several exhibitions over the years. His work is represented at the Museum of Craft & Folk Art in San Francisco.
