Tim Lloyd

Travels in Japan have inspired metalsmith Tim Lloyd’s recent work with hammered and molded vessels. Fascinated with the Japanese tea ceremony, Lloyd uses silver, copper and gold to create kettles and cups that are reminiscent of Asian traditions while reflecting local landscape elements.

The artist lives and works in Northfield, MN, where he was a professor for many years at Carleton College. Upon his retirement, the school organized a touring exhibition, Kettles: Japanese Artistry and American Artists, in his honor.
