We’re big fans of Faye Passow’s humor and craftsmanship and are pleased to offer her work in lithography and silkscreen. Faye is a Minneapolis printmaker who draws on her Wisconsin farm childhood and her decades as a Minnesotan when inventing her riotous imagery.
The artist’s primary medium is stone lithography. Her work ranges from darkly humorous narrative slices of everyday life gone haywire to bittersweet depictions addressing the struggles of adolescence, feminine identity, love, loss and grief. Faye has produced a number of popular prints celebrating the quirkier side of Minnesota life and, in her recent work, has conjured landscapes inspired by favorite natural fauna.
Faye holds a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire and an MA from the University of New Mexico, Albuquerque. She has participated in numerous regional and national exhibitions at institutions including the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. Faye has been awarded grants for her work from the Jerome Foundation, the Bush Foundation and the Minnesota State Arts Board.
