Minneapolis artist Jon Neuse has been making and teaching art for the last 45 years. In his monoprints, he represents the world around him in abstract images that are evocative and personal. Playfulness, experimentation and judgment are the principles behind his art. Jon, who also works with paint and clay, begins all work whimsically not knowing exactly how it will look in the end. He states that he seeks to “make the visual relationships taut, constantly judging whether or not formal artistic elements are resolving themselves into lasting relationships.”
Jon was born and raised in Southwest Texas, attended college in Chicago and served in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan. The artist holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in painting from the University of Minnesota. His work has been exhibited in Santa Fe, San Francisco, Denver and New York City and is represented in private and corporate collections nationally and internationally.
