Peter Pestalozzi, an Ely, MN woodworker and furniture designer, builds beautiful serving trays and other heirloom quality accessories for the home. “My goal,” he states, “is to create pieces that contribute to the quality of our daily lives.”
“I began building during the revival of woodworking during the 1960s and 70s,” the artist explains, “when a new genre of furniture began to emerge. I draw from Shaker, Arts and Crafts, Danish modern, Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles using traditional methods of construction.” Peter takes care to blend different woods in each piece, achieving a balance of scale, line, color and texture with his materials.”
