Wild Apples

“My designs are known in both the Old and New Worlds,” says Gunther Keil of the playful wood carvings that are part of museum collections in the US and in his native Germany. Gunther specializes in Biblical and animal themes and has recently become interested in crafting animal habitats as well.

Originally arriving in America as a professor of German literature, Gunther now resides on 55 acres in Trumansberg, NY where he raises sheep and harvests the wood that he uses to create his whimsical Wild Apple toys.
