Working in porcelain, with glazes of her own formulation, Delores creates engaging utilitarian forms for the table. The artist begins with basic wheel thrown shapes before transforming her surfaces. “The clay wall,” she states, “becomes a fabric, a diary rich with gestural marks and intent.” Her pots are high-fired in a gas reducing kiln.
Delores earned a BFA and an MFA at the University of Chicago. She has exhibited her work internationally and participated in symposiums in Italy and Finland. Currently, she is on the faculty of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and maintains a studio in Galena. IL.
