Bruce Meyer creates beautiful, functional wooden utensils at his studio in Yellville, AR. His gingko salad servers and fish shaped cheese spreaders are perennial favorites. The artist, a high school math teacher who is often joined by his wife and two sons in the studio, states, “we are committed to making each piece individually and avoiding the factory-made look. We handle each piece many times in the process and are not removed from it.”
Bruce’s utensils are designed to fit comfortably in the hand and feature thin, clean edges that perform well when in use at the table. Individually made from durable maple or cherry using a bandsaw and pneumatic drum sander, each piece is finished with food-safe oil and beeswax. Bruce recommends hand washing and renewing with an occasional light application of mineral oil.
