Working out of the Schmidt Artist Lofts in St. Paul, Joanna Buyert is the designer of Fringe and Fettle Ceramics, a sweet, functional line of porcelain pieces. Her work focuses on the fusion of usability and delicate, textural touches, like lace-imprints and polka dot stucco.
After leaving a full-time job in 2011, Joanna retreated to her parents’ cabin in northern Wisconsin and created her own pots for 6 months. Her leap of faith and hard-work have paid off in full, with her work appearing in lifestyle blogs, gift guides and at regional farmers markets ever since.
Joanna describes her own work as “clean and inviting… pots to be treasured not just for being pretty, but also for their functionality.” Read more about Joanna and her studio in Madesmith.
