Hot Glass Works

Hank and Toby Schwartz combine color and emblems in their versatile pressed glass coins that are great as window ornaments, stocking stuffers or package ties. Glass coins were used between the 9th and 15th centuries as a unit of measurement. Their inscriptions referred to the rulers of the time. Hank and Toby carve their own designs out of graphite and then press them into a bit of hot glass to capture the image. The artist couple collaborates on a variety of glass forms at their “mom and pop shop,” Hot Glass Works, in Jamaica, VT.
