Autumn Higgins was born in Portland Oregon, and now lives here in Minneapolis, working as a studio artist and art educator. Autumn moved to the Twin Cities when she was awarded the Fogleberg Fellowship at Northern Clay Center in 2014. She earned her Master’s degree from Louisiana State University in 2014, and her Bachelor’s Degree from Southern Oregon University in 2008. Her work is a portrait of the city, and illustrate the in-between moments of day-to-day life. Each piece brings attention to the beauty of the urban landscape, and to the details of daily life that can often be overlooked. The work is meant to have an unimposing quality and allow the viewers to identify with the imagery to create their own narrative and relationship to the illustrations.
