Liz grew up in her mom’s studio, playing with extra supplies while her mom painted. She dabbled in nearly every medium and didn’t find clay until college. On the verge of dropping out, she took a ceramics class. Liz holds a BFA in ceramics and a BA in Art History. She lives and teaches in Minneapolis, MN and is a full time studio artist.
Elizabeth loves the burst of energy that comes from the obsession required to winnow a shape into perfection. Line and color are applied and allow her to re-examine the original idea. She is in perpetual motion-invention, perfection and appraisal, each new creation fueling the next. It is when something unexpected is created through her exploration and someone notices, Liz feels her things can be of use.
