Project Description

Kathryn Adams was born in Woodbury, Connecticut. Throughout high school she pursued a passion for functional ceramics which lead her to attending Alfred University as an undergraduate. It was Alfred that first her exposed her to glass blowing. Her focus quickly shifted from ceramics to glass and printmaking.

She graduated in 2011 with her BFA and moved to North Carolina. She attended a workshop at Penland School of Crafts, followed by an internship at Jackson County Green Energy Park: a glass blowing facility that uses methane from a landfill to blow glass. After her internship she moved to Asheville to help manage and the Asheville Glass Center. She continues to grow as an artist through outlets like attending Penland for a second time this past summer, working with other glass artists, and teaching.
